Staying in touch, and updates on the Carrboro budget
Hey everyone,
Danny here. I’m excited to be back in your inboxes again! I’m hoping to be staying in much better touch here and on social media—one of the most surprising things about my first year in office was how hard it was to find the time to communicate in these spaces, but as I’ve gotten my legs under me in this now-not-so-new role, I’m looking forward to being a bit easier to find.
Today, I mostly just want to drop a line and let you know to tune in over the next couple weeks if you want to hear a bit more about how I see what’s going on in town. This time of year is always budget season, so there’s a lot going on, and between here and our adoption of the ‘23-24 annual budget on June 20th, I’ll be talking quite a bit about what I hope to see out of the document this year and in the years to come. As many folks around town know, 2022 saw the adoption of the Carrboro Connects Comprehensive Plan, which among many other goals, strategies, and tactics, laid out Climate Action and Racial Equity as the priorities our residents want us to focus on. I think the way we’ll do that is by operationalizing our annual budget to reflect those priorities, so stay tuned for some updates on how I hope we start doing that!
If your inbox isn’t your favorite place to get these updates, please follow me on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. I still won’t be logging on to social media that often, but I’ll be posting the same video updates on all of those platforms and checking responses, so just follow along wherever you prefer, and if all else fails, shoot me a text or give me a call. I’m always happy to meet for a cup of coffee.
More soon, and take good care,
Danny
